Protein shakes
Yesterday, I was asked by a good friend on the effectiveness of protein shakes. They are getting married in September and would like to lose some weight and ‘get fit’ for the wedding. They have started taking low carbohydrate protein shakes in place of breakfast and asked if they needed to take three per day as they are now going to the gym for 30-60 min three days per week. Following a few more questions asked about their current dietary intake, I wouldn’t recommend protein shakes for them as they can get sufficient protein through oral intake via healthy balanced dietary intake.
